基圍#10生境改善工程 Habitat Enhancement Work at Gei wai #10
因沉積作用影響，基圍#10水道累積了不少淤泥，變得越來越淺水，容易被陸生植物及蘆葦入侵，減少了魚蝦棲息的空間及適合水鳥的開闊水域生境。
因此，今年夏季將進行生境改善工程，基圍#10的水道屆時會進行清淤工程，以及清除侵佔河道的陸生植物及蘆葦。工程亦將近陸地一側路約0.5公頃的植物清除，修復為濕蘆葦。工程預計由7月中至10月進行。

Owing to sedimentation, the channels in Gei wai #10 has been silting up over the years; therefore the channels have gradually become shallow and invaded by terrestrial vegetation and reed which result in a loss of water channels for aquatic fauna and open water area for waterbirds.
As a result, habitat enhancement work will be carried out this summer: the perimeter channels will be desilted and unwanted vegetation and reed will be cleared. A 0.5ha vegetation on the landward side will also be cleared and restored to wet reedbed. The work period is anticipated to be from mid-Jul to October.
