塱原清除薇甘菊活動 Mikania Removal Activity in Long Valley
香港觀鳥會將於10月4日 (星期六) 上午舉行清除薇甘菊活動，希望能在薇甘菊的種子成熟期 (每年十一月至翌年二月)之前將薇甘菊清除，以控制其擴散。
有關活動詳情如下：
日期: 2008年10月4日 (星期六)
時間: 上午9:15 - 中午12:00
集合地點: 上水火車站火(美心西餅門外)
名額:20個
注意事項:
1. 此活動要求參加者作數小時的體力勞動，需要一定體能。
2. 本會將提供手套及其他工具。
3. 參加者請穿著輕便服飾，請自備太陽帽、防曬用品、蚊怕水等野外活動用品，參加者可多備一套衣服以作替換。
4. 本會已為此活動購買保險，參加者亦可自行購買適當保險。

A Mikania removal activity will be held on 4th Oct (Sat). We would like to remove Mikania before the fruiting period (Nov to Feb) in order to control spread of the weed.
Details of the activity:
Date: 4th Oct 2008 (sat)
Time: 9:15am - 12:00noon
Gathering place: Sheung Shui KCR station (outside Maxim's Cake Shop)
Quota: 20
Important notes:
1. Participants are required to do physical work for a few hours, good physical ability is preferred.
2. HKBWS will provide gloves and other equipments.
3. Casual wear is recommended. Please bring hat, sun block, insect repellent. Participants are suggested to bring spare clothes.
4. This activity is insured, participants can also purchase suitable insurance themselves.

如活動當日早上7時仍然懸掛3號或以上風球，或黃色暴雨警告或以上，活動將會取消。如活動取消，我們將於當日早上通知參加者。

The activity will be cancelled if typhoon signal no. 3 or above, or amber rainstorm signal or above is hoisted. Phone calls will be made to all participants if the activity is cancelled.
