[Oversea] West Java 西爪哇: Mount Gede + Cibodas Botanical Garden

West Java 西爪哇: Mount Gede + Cibodas Botanical Garden

We, a group of five birders, visited these two places on 1-5 Aug (2-3 Aug: Mt Gede; 4 Aug: Garden).

Mt Gede is about 2-hr drive from the Jarkata airport. The uphill trail is full of birds and some are endemics. Usually 2D1N trip but a long day trip is possible. It took us about 8 hrs walking from the entrance to the campsite (we walked extremely slowly due to birding. Total distance one way = about 7km). Birders with general fitness should complete the trail without difficulty.

Our guide is Boas (Jakartabirder@ymail.com). He could be reached by whatsapp (pls email him first to get his phone no). He is an excellent guide and took good care of us during the trip. Also a very hard working guy and helped us "ticking" a lot of new birds. Anyway, highly recommended.

We saw 94 bird species. A good trip in general!

For details, pls check (Part 1-3)
