just an added question. Was Taman Awam Bukit Fraser your birding spot on the Fraser's Hill?
How about K.L.? Seems very fruitful despite a busy capital city. Would it not be too hot there in forest?

From what I understand, Taman Awam Bukit Fraser is just a children's playground at Fraser's Hill; I think it is not a birding spot. There are 8 trails ranging from 500m to 5000m as shown on the map provided by the tourist office there, As I do not drive, I just tried the Hemmant Trail, a section of Bishop Trail and the public roads for birding.
For birding at KL, I have only visited a couple of birding spots there, it appears Shah Alam National Botanical Park and Sungai Congkak Recreational Forest are nice for birding, but better avoid  weekends & public holidays.
