Narcissus Flycatcher - Lamma Island

Narcissus Flycatcher - Lamma Island

Not been too much of interest in the garden for a while...
However managed to get a shot of this male Narcissus Flycatcher.... seems almost impossible to get him before he goes to water.
Is also about a week later than last year... seems all the migrants may weather affected.... prevailing winds etc etc.

Interesting. This isn't first time you have had an arrival the same day I have had on Hong Kong Island.  It seems there is some correlation between migrants pattern on Hong Kong Island and Lamma. I start suspecting Lamma and Hong Kong are more closely related in terms of migration rates than with Po Toi.

Great shot by the way.

Thanks both... yes was good to see him again.... assuming is the same one as last year.
Brendan.... can easily see that Lamma & HK Island would be closely related in migration terms than with Po Toi.

Also think that there are a lot more birds to be seen on Lamma than are being seen by me.... I very rarely get out & about
BTW had a Brown Thrush in the garden last week, but no photo and have the following are daily visitors:
Hwamei
Manchurian Bush warbler
Rufous-tailed Robin (2, maybe 3)
Blackbirds
