Dear wingwing, in such circumstance (the bird in the shady area, bright sunshine in the background), what is the set up of your camera in order to get the correct exposure of the bird? Do you have to +EV or -EV? (sorry to bother you because I am green in bird photography)

the best thing you can do is to try and find an angle where the bird is in front of leafs .. but if this option is not possible, +ve accordingly ...
