mirror reflex lens??I don't know a lot of people who use them for Bird Photography, I never noticed you used them for bird photography. But a very nice pose of the Heron and I like the colour.

Few use this lens but the advantage is its reach and weight. Its price is pretty reasonable, around HK$7900. Shooting little birds is not its cup of tea though.

A night heron surviving from the cold of this winter

The watercourse at Tai Shui Hang in Ma On Shan is a place I like to visit usually at dusk for avian photography. Probably because of the chilly weather, the waterbirds there have been diminishing tremendously in number compared to last year this time when I began tracking them for shooting. These day, there were two night herons that I often saw at dusk time either perching on trees or crouching by the rudder of fish boats for preying.
The following shots taken of the same night heron on two different days show how it came over from the cold weather: less sleeping and more curvature on the lining of the face.
The photos are in chronological order from the top down.

Re: A night heron surviving from the cold of this winter

Today, I moved to the other side of the bank to get closer for a better shot. As she opened her eyes after taking a nap, I managed to get these three from different positions.
