Lung Fu Shan Spring 2012

Lung Fu Shan Spring 2012

5 April 2012 - Po Shan Road

1 Narcissus Flycatcher (fine looking  male)
1 Asian Brown Flycatcher

For the first time since slope work started I walked the concrete trail at the top of Po Shan Road. The trail has been significantly enlarged and much of the underbrush on side facing the buildings has been cleared while the underbrush on the peak side remains. Large trees remain and I believe they may be better now for Flycatcher and just as I was thinking that the Narcissus flew into one of those trees. On the down side, it may cut down on some of the more dense forest species I have seen here such as Brown-chested Jungle Flycatcher and Siberian Blue Robin. The other annoying thing is that a chain link fence has been erected along the trail on the building side so you need to look out through the fence to see birds. I don't see much need for this fence since there isn't really any danger of falling off of the trail. This area however is definitely worth a look if there aren't too many workmen making a clamour.
