Hoopoe still at Victoria Park

Hoopoe still at Victoria Park

Happy to find the hoopoe at the Victoria Park again.  But the black and white robin gave it a hard time.  You can see that the hoopoe turned its head in 180 degree.

I've noticed before on Po Toi that individual Hoopoes can often be identified by the pattern of black and white on their wings.

This photo does show the same Hoopoe as appears in this entry by Samuel Ma on 1st October 2010.

The zig-zag on the second white bar on the wing and the small white spur on the first white bar are quite distinctive.
Whether the birds retain the same pattern after a feather moult I'm not sure.

I think this bird was first seen in Victoria Park on 5th September 2010.

Interesting to know that the Hoopoe may have stayed in the park for quite some time. May I know where did you see the Hoopoe? I may visit the park during CNY holidays.
