Pale Martin

Pale Martin

To be frank, it is difficult to separate Pale Martin and Sand Martin. I remembered there are some talks about the two species few years ago and confirmed there should be Pale Martin instead of Sand Martin in Hong Kong. However, interestingly, IUCN red list put Pale Martin a vagrant in Hong Kong but Sand Martin a native species in Hong Kong. The assessment was done by Birdlife in 2009. Can experts tell more about it?
