內蒙-烏爾旗汗 Inner Mongolia 11-2013

Just returned from a very cold (below -13°C at noon) 4-day trip at Wu'erqihan, Inner Mongolia. It is a town about 190km NE of Hulunber. Major attractions of Wu'erqihan include owls & grouses.
Boreal Owl 鬼鴞
We were very lucky to be able to see this owl deep inside the forest!

Great Grey Owl 烏林鴞
It's a stunning experience for me to meet this large owl face to face inside the forest. It's such an elegant owl, esp. when it turned its head in a very slow way from one direction to another.
