Japanese Paradise-flycatcher - immature male - Lamma

Japanese Paradise-flycatcher - immature male - Lamma

My first thought is immature female, but there is a single dark, slightly elongated tail feather... does this make it an immature male?

I think that you're probably right that it's an immature male, but I don't have too much experience with ageing these. This suggests that males may take at least 2 years to reach full breeding plumage - I never knew this before.
