Common tailorbird - behavioural note

Common tailorbird - behavioural note

At 3pm today I was sitting in my study when outside 2 Tailorbirds started to give their alarm call noisily and persistently. They were no more than 6' away from me but separated by a glass door. They seemed agitated by something in the tree outside although I could see no sign of a predator. Often cats are the cause. However suddenly one of the birds started to move away, dragging its right wing as if injured, something I have often read about plovers doing. Clearly the bird was not hurt and eventually both flew off but I wondered whether this behaiour is common.
