Bean Goose at Mai Po boardwalk 1st Jan 2009

Just heard that RWL has a Bean Goose from the new hide in Deep Bay. Not seen by us yet....

To add to John's message, the Bean Goose was right in front of the new boardwalk hide (within 200 metres or so, but rather against the light) for about 20 minutes at high tide today.

There are a number of potential splits within the Bean Goose complex and hopefully the photos will ID to subspecies.

A great start to 2009!

Here are 3 record shots of the Bean Goose at the new boardwalk hide on 1 Jan 2009.
Photos by Chan Sau Ting.
The photos were taken with a small digital camera pushed against a Swarovska AT 80 telescope.
