[Kingfisher] Hutchison Park

Hutchison Park

I am sure butter didn't do any thing he shouldn't, I still remember the first time I saw my first common kingfisher at Kowloon Park many years ago, I felt exactly the same excitement as butter did. I will advice people not to over react in reports like this, even though there had been many serious incidents of disturbance from some photographers but in general people had been very reasonable and responsible. Lets not forget, we are not only here to protect and conserve the habitat for the birds, we are also here to share our knowledge of bird watching to others. Only if the species is highly endangered, in breeding or really rare should locations be kept as secretive as possible. Happy birding everyone!!

Agree. We should put the safety and protection of birds on the top of the list ... I disclosed the discovery cos I believe it's not a rare species ... plus that there seems to be no previous report of locating this type at the spot I mentioned.
