I can find 6 kind of shore-birds in this photo, am I right?
1.Common Greenshank
2.Common Redshank
3.Marsh Sandpiper
4.Terek Sandpiper
5.Curlew Sandpiper
6.Ruff
How many can you find?

I don't see any Ruff in the photo, but agree there are six species included. Author: lpaul Time: 16/04/2012 17:16
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper (centre left) perhaps that is the Ruff? Author: tmichael Time: 16/04/2012 19:35
The apparently scallop-backed bird left of centre is clearly the putative Ruff, I think.
Seems to me from this quality of image there's just enough about the head to suspect it probably is 'just' a Sharp-tailed.
Do we get a 'solution'/better quality image of the mystery bird?
Also why isn't the bird in front of it, with its backside in the air, a Wrybill?

Thanks Gary ,Ipaul & Mike. I do hope that is a Ruff, but I'm wrong. I agreed that it is a Sharp-tailed. Try hard to find a real Ruff next time! Ha Ha!
