Black-crowned Night Heron 1

In the middle of the lily pond of the HKU campus. In fact it has been present for more than one week. Personally it is an interesting record as I had never seen this species in the campus. It is a tame bird. Many express interest when they see such a creature in the campus !

Hi Louis, there are one or two night herons roosting around the lily pond regularly. You can find them after 7pm. They would like to roost around the edge of the pond.

Is this raptor a Crested Goshawk ?

This is a flycatcher for sure, but is it a Grey-streaked or Dark-sided ?

There are plenty of this plant on Lung Fu Shan, does anyone know what they are ? They attract birds !

The raptor is a Grey-faced Buzzard. A nice find - congratulations.
