What a nice Christmas Surprise! It was seen in a bird wave, but stayed much longer after the wave moved on and pecked on this tree. We observed it for nearly ten minutes until it hopped onto some vines and disappeared! Another wood knocking sound was heard during our observation very close by, however wasn't coming from this bird, there might be a chance that it is from another Piculet, or from a nuthatch / tit of some sort near by?
