The Avifauna of Hong Kong lists this bird as Scaly Thrush Zoothera dauma. However, the species has since been split into two: Scaly Thrush  Zoothera dauma and White's Thrush  Zoothera aurea. The bird we get in Hong Kong is White's Thrush Zoothera aurea. This is the name that has been used in the Hong Kong Bird Report since 2007.
