Water is still drained at Gei wai #16/17 as of today, 18 Sep 2017.
Can somebody from WWF HK give a progress report as to what re-construction is being carried out there and when will it be water filled again?

Hi KK,

GW#16/17 is currently under large-scale restoration work, including restoration of island and desilting of channel.

Originally, the work is scheduled to be concluded at the end of September. Due to the impact from Typhoon Hato, the work is now scheduled to complete by mid-October.

Vegetation will be treated before the GW being refilled.

How is GW#16 and 17 now? Do they filled water now?

The earth moving work is now completed and we have been keeping water level high for controlling the vegetation.

There are some wintering ducks using the GW already. Water level will be resume to normal operation level from this weekend onward.
