I didn't even have my camera out when this bird flew in front of me on Old Peak Road, about 5 minutes from our apartment.

I saw roughly where it landed and tried to get my camera out of my pack and keep an eye on it before it flew. In haste I forgot to check the settings so I shot at f8 and I could have shot at f5.6. So at ISO6400 I managed a rather noisy shot at 1/30s.

There don't seem to be many records from HK Island although there are a few. A nice patch tick anyway.

Is this the race Cyanotus?
