Wing,

A stunning shot. Your gear is certainly not "old", but I would challenge anybody with "New" gear to get a better shot.

Any takers !! Come on all you photographers with 400mm, 500mm 600mm see if you can beat this shot

Age of equipment has nothing to do with a great photo, it is the ability of the photographer

I would like to vote this the Best Shot of 2007 on the HKBWS BBS.

This deserves to be on the front page.

I just happened to be shooting at Long Valley yesterday and here is my contribution.
See if that meets your challenge, Bob! :

A very nice shot KK.

As you both are good friends, I would leave the judging to somebody else.

OK, any other shots??

This is my "not so good" entry

Long Valley.

Blue sky?

No, it was the hazed mountain---No blue sky yesterday at Long Valley.

Some tips for sharing:

Don't look at your object alone, but (when possible) choose a pure background to outstand your object. Moving your gear a little bit, the result may be completely different.  :

Taken by using my faithful digiscopic gear+ Nikon 8400.

Wing,

A nice shot, yesterday morning was very dull at Long Valley, you have done a great job. Maybe you can fix HK's pollution problem    :

Can't agree with you more, Wing. The bokeh is an important part in the whole ensemble of a shot, and all the bokehs here in this posting are just gorgeous: simple in pattern and matching in tone, making the shots more spirited in aesthetic quality. No wonder, avian photography here has been elevated to the level of portraiture photography. The shots here are good stuff for learning on in photography. Thanks for sharing.
