Hi fsp,

I think the parrot in your photos is Blue-naped Parrot (Tanygnathus lucionensis). The MacKinnon and Phillipps Field guide (Birds of Borneo Sumatra, Java and Bali) says: "A feral population is found around Kota Kinabalu".  According to Smythies's "The birds of Borneo" they have been there since 1962 !

John,

Thanks a lot! I only get the New Holland field guide to the Birds of South-east Asia and can't identify what parrot it is.  Thanks again for your help. Post amended.
