Today among the Great Knot in Deep Bay was an individual showing several colour rings. The combination was:
Right leg: above knee - yellow flag, below knee - red ring over pale green ring
Left leg: below knee - red ring over yellow ring
I suspect this bird is individually identifiable. It will be interesting to find out where/when it was ringed. Author: tbob Time: 5/04/2009 20:51

I have heard back from the Australasian Wader Studies Group.
The bird I observed on Saturday was originally ringed at Broome (Western Australia) on 02/08/2008 and was resighted there again on 15/12/2008. This is a distance of approximately 4515km from HK.
