last year, I'd come across a large bird which looked like the captioned perching on a leafless tree at Tai Lam Chung country park, a few kms from the reservoir. I was shocked at the instant I saw it. It turned its head around and noticed me. Its stare seemed to pierce through me. Then it spread its wings ... with a few flaps, it glided away, with me standing on the road as if petrified.
I used to think that such bird was at sea, then I read from a book which implied that it might be seen somewhere from waterbody ... so is it possible that the bird I saw was a white-bellied sea eagle? it's a pity that although I brought my camera with me during my several visits at that park in that season, but I hadn't got it that time, alas!

Very possible to have been a sea-eagle.   I have seen them in the hills behind North Point, well away from the sea.  No fish up to be had up there.
