This juvenile Black-naped Tern was found in August 2009 during tern survey. When we saw it the first time, its wing was missing primaries already. It could fly, but was quite clumsy and close to the water surface most of the time.
What could be the reason(s) to its damaged wing?

Made a mistake in flight or landing? Collision damaged the wing, I think.
