Common Koel (Juvenile) 噪鵑幼鳥
Braemar Hill, Hong Kong
30 May 2011

This juvenile Common Koel was found near a pavement about 1.5 metre above ground.   He (?) was unable to fly yet and a Blue Magpie was feeding him.  The photo-taking time lasted only a short while so it is believed that both Koel and ‘parent’ had not been disturbed.

Does anyone know whether the Koel could have fallen down while learning to fly?  It was climbing up a trunk with great difficulty and the wings appeared to be very weak.

Hi tsawong!

It may fall from the nest but not sure!
But if the "mother" still feed the Common Koel juvenile, I think it is ok for the juvenile.
