Alas, its' a Curlew Sandpiper :-(

The Kentish Plover (bottom right) is of interest as it has a complete black breast band -  a feature which is quite rare, but not unknown, in this species.

Two were seen from the new boardwalk hide during falling tide this afternoon. (Thanks Martin to confirm this!!)

One Spoonbill sandpiper was seen today, 12/4/2013
It was discovered at around 14:00

It was quite far away from the bird hide. The quality of photo is bad...

One in breeding plumage was seen by Ying Hak King from new boardwalk hide during rising tide today.

After Ying Hak King's sighting record, We haven't had any sighting of the Spoon-billed Sandpiper for about 3 weeks. Although last two years we did not get any record after late April. But the previous records suggest some birds could arrive in early to mid-May. Please report here if you see the Spoon-billed Sandpiper. Thank you very much.
