Interesting to see it coming back to the same area everyday, I wonder how long it will stay in Hong Kong before migration.

This is D2's first resighting photo, it was flagged on 21-Mar-11.

But it is a Terek Sandpiper rather than a Curlew Sandpiper, the bill is up-turn and legs are bright orange.

Cheers, Katherine

Thanks John,
Regarding the transmitter aerial, yes, BE is carrying a transmitter.
It is a collaboration project with the Chinese Academy of Science to study migration of shorebirds on this EAAFlyway.

At the moment there are 5 Hong Kong Grey Plover (BE, BD, BB, BA and AU) fitted with transmitters in November and January.
All of them are still around Deep Bay area and are gathering very valuable local movement and habitat usage data for us.
More results will be shared later with this forum.

Cheers,
Katherine

Thanks for the resighting records.
All these are Grey Plover flagged in Hong Kong.
BB and BE were also fitted with a GPS tracker in November and January respectively.
Both birds stayed around Deep Bay so far.

It's found unable to fly in the Shenzhen Talent park. Then it was rescued by 深圳野生动物保护工作站。

I'm asking them for further updates.
Thank you very much kentluo!
