A bit out of date, but at 19 october I filmed a group of egrets just inside mai po from the main entrance. Of the righthandside in one the sewage ponds. Close study of this group of egrets, all Little Egrets, we got one bird with a yellow/greenish bill and same coloured legs (bit darker, a bit shorter necked, but size and structure like little egret. Can this be a Swinhoes? The video shots are brief, but bill colour is deffinitly yellow. Its not short legged like a Eastern reef ore Cattle Egret, and not as fat as a Eastern reef. Other nice observations where a Raddes Warbler at Mai Po on the 19th, a Japanese Trush on the 21th at Mai Po, a Black-faced Spoonbill at Mai Po on the 20th and a dead Lanceolated Warbler at the border walk on the 19th. And 6 painted Snipe at Long Valley on the 20th. And a Eye-browed Trush at Tai Po Kau. Thanx to Samso So and Paul Leader for the back-up there. Cheers, Justin Jansen, the Netherlands

After looking to the videostills it turned out to be an Intermediate Egret, because bill was too tick for an Swinhoes! Cheers, Justin
