It is an adult Long-tailed Broadbill (Psarisomus dalhousiae, 長尾闊咀鳥, No. 605 in A Field Guide to the Birds of China by J MacKinnon and Karen Phillipps)
Habitat & behaviour: broadleaved evergreen forest; 500-2000m, locally down to 50m. Usually in flocks, rather shy (poor chap!  )
Range: Resident N, NE Indian subcontinent, SW China, SE Asia, Sumatra and Borneo

其實，什麼國家級保護，有時都顯得很無用，大量受保護的雀鳥，經常出現鳥市場 ，禁也禁不絕。
美豔且珍貴的鳥兒，鄰落到如此可憐收場。
不單止大陸，香港鳥貿易情況亦都頗嚴重，我曾見過藍翅八色東鳥這珍貴的林鳥被 困於龍中，為何如此瀕危的雀鳥，會出現於鳥店呢？

可悲的是，越美麗稀少的鳥，越有人喜歡擁有。買鳥的人未必知道許多的籠鳥是從 野外捕來的，而當中所造成的破壞許多人亦未必知道。
我們有機會時應盡量向身邊的人講述購買籠鳥對野生鳥類的害處，因為有時愛鳥反 而變成害鳥。
記得約十年前港台制作的鏗鏘集，曾有一集名為「一鳥百鳥」的專輯，內容是探討 鳥友野外觀鳥的心態及過程，及養鳥之人對籠鳥的看法。在當時本地觀鳥活動仍未 像現時般變得流行。
印象之中林會長及其他前輩鳥友也有出鏡呢。
圖書館的視聽資料可能可以找到有關資料。

I felt so sorry for that bird when I saw it in the
shop that I bought it wanting to give it a better
life. I wished I did not.
While that bird may live better, the fact that it was
bought may doom many others of its kind in that those
people may continue to trap it in the wild.

這鳥習慣生活於樹枝之間，不適宜在地上走動，看牠長長的尾羽經已磨損了，應該 儘量讓牠在棲木上停留。
