Below is an email received by HKBWS for bird ID. Anyone please help! Hello, My name is Simon Roberts. I live in Discovery Bay, I have lived in HK for 20 years. For the last 2 days I have seen a pair of unusual birds in the vicinity. Even my 9 year old daughter noticed them. They look like a type of wader, about 2 feet tall ,slim, white, with a yellow/orange neck and head, dark legs and feet, dark beak, straight, about 4 inches long. The odd thing is they walked in grass land eating worms and bugs, they stayed in grassland for over 2 hours, very reluctant to fly they're behaviour was funny, craning the neck forward and back and shaking the head from side to side. I've seen similar birds, though not the same on the sea side but not in grassland. Any idea what they are? Regards, Simon Roberts
