It would be a male Koel in my opinion, as the the back and head are a homogenous glossy blue-black and the head is rather small in proportion to the large body. Should it have a broad, long tail, then it's quite sure it's a Koel

Thanks to you all for guessing. We saw it soon after entering the HaiPhone Road entrance. The "UFO" stood on a branch inside trees shown in the following map (location): http://everwell.dynu.com:3880/BirdWatching/HaiPhong.jpg Size : much larger than a (spotted) dove, more or less the size of a mature mappie. So, it cannot be a kingfisher. Color : no significant distortion found from the 10X optical plus 4X digital image. So, what kind of bird will have such a light pale blue colour? I think Koel should not be that light in colour, especially when the light condition inside tree shadows should be dimmer. White collar : Will there be white collar (or better "band") at the back of a blue mappie? I only saw blue mappie once and the book reference of it did not show white "band". Tail : It was apparent that that "UFO" had a long tail. Right? Anyway, thanks for the brainstorming ideas.
