Logged John Holmes BBS Member BBS God     Posts: 103 Re: What is the Yaat Yee Saam Sei Bird? « Reply #1 on: May 11th, 2004, 4:45pm » Quote Modify If it's a constantly repeated four-note call, a far-carrying sound that you can also hear at night, then my suggestion is Indian Cuckoo.    They start calling around the second week of April, and can go on into June.   Herklots described this call in Cantonese as a young bride's lament: - "Koh poh da ngoh!"  (My mother-in-law hits me!)   The call is also described in Salim Ali's Indian Bird books as "One more bot-tle", so the call is a favourite of mine !
