Checking a Thrush ID from old photo

Dear experts, I found 2 photos from an old record and they were marked as Grey-backed Thrush. But then I re-checked books and am now thinking if it would stand any chance to be a female Brown Thrush 紅腹鶇? Many thx ~ Shing Mun, 4 Feb 2004

Hi Alvin You were right first time - this is Grey-backd Thrush - all the pix of Brown Thrush in my books only show a little streaking in the throat, not including the breast. Th whole of the breast should also be orange on Brown Thrush. Cheers Mike K

Thx Mike, the side-view of the pitures confused me because the orange patch, as seen in the photos, is larger than that shown in the "Birds of HK&S.China". Merry Xmas and wish you a good birding year ~ AL
