Little Curlew?

Boardwalk 24/4/05 DSLR Is this a little curlew? I think this is the same one My observations(or...illusions?! ) : 1. It was flying alone amd staying with avocets instead of a group of whimbrel there. 2. The shorter bill. 3. The eyestrip somehow "seems" to be emerged from below eye but not straight through.

The pictures show different birds. They are different in bill length. The first one is a Whimbrel and the second one is a Little Curlew.
