Thanks for idea. But I think it should be bluish, rather than brownish. It was not seen in shadow. So, the bluish feel should not be a result of poor lighting condition.

Actually, the bird jumped into the frame when the plants were photoed. That's why the plant was clearer than it. It then immediately flew away. It was greyish (but a little bit bluish, as in the photo) with a whiter head. It only popped up for a few seconds!

I couldn't find anything in the picture. How about a Black-throated Laughingthrush? It is quite common at Lung Fu Shan and area around the Peak.

I do not think that the blurred image in the centre of the photo is not a bird. To me this appears to be a dragonfly perched very close to the camera (on the obvious pale twig crossing the frame). The long blue abdomen is visible, there is a glint of light from the eye and there seems to be two wings pointing towards the camera from the slightly larger, darker thorax. The description of behaviour (perching for a very brief period) also seems to fit. I am not an expert on dragonfly identification, but according to my book I think it is a male Orthetrum species, perhaps Orthetrum glaucum (Common Blue Skimmer)

something like this? Agree that there is a Dragonfly in the front of the photo. I didn't notice about that as I can see nothing on his photo as the same as Carrie. Just give him some idea acccording to what he describe "Size similar to Black-Faced Laughing Thrust "

Thanks to your all for the comments. Some are very helpful to provide friendly guesses. I now have time to sit down and check very very carefully. The photo may be a wrong reference because the bird might have flown away. But the grey bird was really seen during photo taking. Forget this thread if the description is too brief (as wellas misleading). I'll try to pay attention to the bird next time ... Apology for causing confusion. BM : Please help to kill this thread so that no more persons will be confused.
