Yes, I think the brown birds in all photos are juvenile black-crowned night herons. The spots on the wings of the brown birds in photo #3 clearly shows they are juvenile night herons. The one on the left in #2 is moulting into adult plummage. For #1, juvenile night heron is the only heron I know that is dark brown all over. Chinese pond herons and juveniles should have white bellies and wings. Little Dolphin
