Unsure duck at MPNR

This duck flew in amongst the waders on Wednesday. I'm going with female Pintail. Can someone confirm for me? Neil. 19th October,2005 MPNR, Hong Kong,China. Olympus 7070wz plus Swarovski ATS80HD scope and 20-60x eyepiece.

It is an eclispe male, note the uniformly grey lesser and median coverts, and broad buff tips to the otherwise grey greater coverts and the broad white tips to the speculum. You can also see the very start of winter pluamge appearing on the lower cheeks Paul
