搵隻雞翼(生熟不拘,但係要全隻,唔要斬開三截果D),同佢D翼底覆羽比較一下 就會明。

Not sure what has been discussed about this bird, as there was clearly some query about it's ID implied in the subject line, but it's interesting that if you zoom in on the feet the claws appear to be pale - supposedly diagnostic of Lesser Kestrel (Common Kestrel has dark claws). Plumage differences between the two species in juv./female plumages are slight, and in terms of shape, moustachial, +perhaps underside of body and underwing patterning it seems to be just a Common Kestrel. Do others agree it appears to have pale claws? Do our local Common Kestrels definitely have dark claws? Mike Turnbull

Hi Mike, I saw at least two dark claws of its left leg - first and second digit. Cheers, Captain

| I was comparing its wings with chicken wings, in particular the extended alula. The overall impression to me is a Common Kestrel, but I'm not sure about the colour of the claws.

Yes see what you mean Captain. There's certainly one dark claw from the left lying across the right foot, isn't there. I guess I was taking the 'knuckles' for the base of the claws. Mike
