The bird in #6 is a Bright-capped Cisticola. Eliminated from Zitting Cisticola by its rufescent supercilium and much longer tail with brown tail tip.

| Hi Anisus, For this photo, the bird surely showed its long tail compared with the undertail coverts. I think the streak on the crown is not the main feature to identify Bright-capped Cisticola. For Zitting Cisticola, it show white supercilium and white tail tip.

Hi waterblowing, The English name of 塱原 should be Long Valley. You can't find either Long Valley or 塱原 in the map because its actual name is Yin Kong 燕崗. Forrest

I think the cisticola is zitting rather than bright-capped: The underparts are rather plain buff. Bright-capped usually shows a strong contrast between darker flanks and a pure white belly/throat. The base colour of the crown is buffish. Bright-capped tends to show a greyer crown which contrasts with the more orange cheeks. The tail-pattern is typical of zitting, with pale tips and a darker sub-terminal band. I think the tips are actually rather than brown (especially on the outer tail) There is slight contrast between the ear coverts and the rest of the head, creating a hint of a supercilium. The head pattern of zitting is variable - most show a contrasting pale supercilium but some are much buffer. The location also favours zitting (bright-capped is rare in the lowlands, whereas zitting is very common at Long Valley) Incidentally, this bird appears to be calling. Do you remember what it sounded like? Zitting has a short 'zit zit' call (hence the name!) and bright-capped has a bleating call, similar to yellow-bellied prinia but more nasal and very distinctive once learned. The call is definitely the easiest way to separate the two species which are very similar and quite variable in pattern (especially zitting)
