There was a pair of these Goshawks frying around Lamma Island yesterday. Is is a Crested Goshawk? Neil Lamma Island, Hong Kong, China. 08/12/05 Nikon D2x plus Nikon 300/2.8 AFS and 1.4x teleconverter

This is a classic Crested Goshawk pose - the fluffy white undertail coverts make identification relatively straightforward. Often the undertail coverts are fluffed out like this when the bird is displaying - short flicking wingbeats followed by a short glide, and then the short flicking wingbeats again. Cheers Mike K

Thanks Mike. As there were two of them circling around and landing in a tree together then maybe they were displaying.Neil.
