Wun Yiu,Tai Po 25/2/2006 Kodak DX6490 + 2.2x add-on lens Cockatoo? What kind is it? Thanks. It seems going alone and without seeing its mates. Also, the reds on its face seems some injury. Wish this lovely can make it and live on.....

I did a web search, and this appears to be a Goffin's Cockatoo (Cacatua goffini). They are native to some islands of Indonesia, but kept as cage birds. Judging from the leg ring on this one, it is probably someone's escaped pet. The red on the face is not from an injury, it is a natural part of the bird's colouring, so no need to worry about it being hurt. Cheers, Koren
