I got a short glimpse of a long tailed bird near QM Hospital in Pokfulam when it flied across the road many meters ahead of me. It is about the size of a flycatcher and its tail looks much longer than its body. Could it be one of the Paradise Flycatchers? or something else? Please enlighten. Thanks.

I am not sure if I met the same bird this morning. Again it was at a distance and it flied in more or less a straight line, not undulating.

Is it possible to be Blue Magpie I have met a few near QM. But it doesn't match the size of a flycatcher.

actually I'd raised a similar question to some of my experience "Birder" friends, a small long tail bird white with sunlights reflex, will that be a Asian paradise flycatcher? What else small bird got a long long tail? If I see it in Tai Po Kau I may not ask but the location is Tseung Kwan O.

In my case, it cannot be a Magpie because of the size. I will try to find it out during the weekend. Wish me good luck.

Interesting... I did see a Japanese Paradise Flycatcher on Mt. Davis last September. Exactly where did you see the bird? And the time of the day? Is it around the cemetary near Mt. Davis, or south of QM Hospital near the Ebenezer School for the Blind, or inside QM Hospital? Since I have to go there every day, perhaps I can identify it for you.

Hi, Little Dolphin. Thanks for your offer and sharing. It was seen flying between the residential blocks on Consort Rise and Bisney Road in the morning. I tried again today but no sign of it, probably because of the rain. Mt. Davis may be a possibility since the areas are so close to each other. I would have been there too if not for the rain.

Tried to look for the bird this morning from 8:30 to 9:00. Haven't found it. I saw a squirrel though.
