We saw this duck fly into the other end of 16/17 around 12.00pm today. Similar color to a Common Teal but bigger. Could it be a Falcated duck? Neil Mai Po Nature Reserve, Hong Kong, China. 13/04/06 Olympus 7070wz plus Swarovski STS80HD scope and SW 30x eyepiece and DCA adapter.

Neil, a cracking drake Falcated Duck no less! I hope it sticks around until I arrive in HK tommorrow. Best wishes, Ian (still in the UK, flying in 8 hours time)

Neil, I can confirm that it was the Falcated Teal as I watched it for a long time from the bank of pond 16/17 from around 12:30 pm to 1 pm. According to the WWF record, the Teal was also seen on April 10. Ian, hope it loves Mai Po and stays for a few more days.
