Possible Nordmann's Greenshank at MPNR

Taken yesterday at 16/17. This is a crop from a larger image and this white underwing wader stood out from all the others. Could it be a Nordmann's ?

Hello Neil,
I don't think any of these are Nordmann's. It's hard to be sure looking at the birds in the picture, but the feet on Nordmann's do not project beyond the tail tip.

even though the bird in the middle has a whitish underwing covert but i have tried to magnify the image a bit and compared the overall size and ratio from the other marsh sandpipers, they are the same.
any experts out there are experienced in the underwing covert color variation of marsh sandpiper?

This is an interesting picture not least for the contorted body position and Iwonder whether this contributes to this bird looking particularly pale compared to the others which show some underwing but more shaded. The outer primaries have dark tips on this bird just like the others and the general underwing pattern looks OK for Marsh sandpiper. The head and neck don't seem to have the same degree of streaking but again this bird is lit differently. The bill looks fine and straight but its hard to see how far the legs would project beyond the tail but my reference books suggest that both Common and Nordmanns show little projection and some, as John says, say Nordmann's has no projection of the toes. I think this is Marsh sandpiper but I am definitely not an expert! I just found it a nice puzzle to work through.

These are all Marsh Sandpipers. Have a look at the bill shape and structure, and the head pattern. It is the same on all birds.
The bird you mention appears whiter simply because of the angle of view, which allows more light on the underparts. If you look at the bill and head, it is exactly the same as the others.
