Digiscoped at MPNR this week. The bill looks slightly de-curved and it is on a slight angle. I was hoping at first for a Spoon-billed Sandpiper but I couldn't be so lucky.Help anyone? Neil. MPNR, Hong Kong, China. 18/04/06 Olympus 7070wz plus Swarovski STS80HD scope and Sw 30x eyepiece and DCA adapter

it is a sanderling to me. it is mentioned in "Shorebirds, An identification guide" that "Bill black, rarely tinged paler; about head length, heavy-based but tapering and slightly dropped."
