Logged miket BBS Member BBS God I'd rather be birding!     Posts: 257 Re: Unidentifly Bird. « Reply #1 on: Sep 15th, 2006, 5:46pm » Quote Modify They are two different birds, of course.   The top one is a Stonechat, Common (Siberian), I think  - it looks too warm above for White-tailed Saxicola leucura, which may be in Xinjiang - I'm not sure. Is Hodgson's S. insignis there? If so the white on what I think are the primary coverts may be relevant as Hodgson's shows this feature.   The second bird is a pipit. This one is quite easy I think - it's in a tree so it is a Tree Pipit Anthus trivialis, which again I'm assuming has a Xinjiang distribution.
