Would this be a tiger shrike? Just popped its head out of the canopy briefly from my rooftop in tai Peng village on Lamma Island. Heavily cropped, so for record only, not a good photo. Canon 350D 100-400

Yes, it would be!! We seem to be having an unprecedented influx, the product of the tropical storm following immediately on the unseasonal cold front in the early part of last week? This makes four: at Kowloon Park a little over two weeks ago (precise date unknown), at Po Toi on 14-16 September, at Tai Po Kau on 16 September and now at Lamma (today 17 September, I assume). How many must have gone unseen? All but the Tai Po Kau bird were photographed and these by the way are excellent record shots, Yi Gou. Mike Turnbull

Thanks Mike - very exciting. Yes, this was this morning, 17th September. I waited for about an hour for it to reappear, but no luck.
