This morning a Chiffchaff was in one of the ponds managed by KCRC at Lok Ma Chau. This is the fifth record for Hong Kong, the last being ten years ago in February 1993. We have arranged with KCRC to allow access to two organised groups of birdwatchers on Saturday morning. These groups will meet at Mai Po Nature Reserve car park at 10.30am and midday. If you wish to join one of these groups to look for the Chiffchaff, please inform me either by email (gjcarey@asiaecol.com.hk) or telephone (24862885) by 5pm Friday afternoon. The site is private land managed for wildlife and access is not allowed at other times. Those wishing to come should have a suitable Frontier Closed Area permit valid for Lok Ma Chau (not MP Boardwalk only). Geoff Carey
